No. There is no need for your customers to download or install anything. This is a major advantage. The QR code opens a web-based app instantly in their browser (Chrome/Safari). It removes the friction of installing an app, leading to higher conversion rates.

Yes and no. You are not permitted direct solicitation or platform circumvention. However, the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) is negotiating with food aggregators on this. The NRAI says that the food service (restaurant / cafe / cloud kitchen) should own the customer relationship. As a food service business owner, you will have to be able to demonstrate that the QR code on the box simply links to a digital menu (without an explicit "order here" call to action on your packaging), as it can be argued that this is standard branding used for all orders (dine-in, takeaway, and delivery).
